25 Years - Let’s Celebrate

One of the premiere yearly MIEM events is the Support Staff Conference for Administrative Professionals. This year we celebrate 25 years of offering a conference designed specifically for support staff professionals to help them address the many challenges they face daily.

One of the reasons the conference is such a success is the planning and organization of the planning committee and the outstanding contributions from the presenters, most of whom volunteer to share their expertise. As you look at the conference brochure, take note of the presenters who are sharing their knowledge and provide top-notch professional development.

I hope to see you in November at the 25th Annual Support Staff Conference for Administrative Professionals. Register online at www.gomiem.org.

Executive Director, MIEM

Postponement: Annual Regional Meetings to Support Career & College Readiness

We thank you very much for your interest and participation, and appreciate your patience as we plan for dates in the spring that will work better for many Michigan educators. Thank you to the many regional educators who stepped forward with our request for local presentations. We look forward to working with you again for the spring 2012 meetings. Why Certification Matters

School districts that hire business officials and support staff believe that certification matters. Obtaining certification demonstrates a dedication to your profession.

You can earn MIEM’s School Administrative Professional Certification (SAPC) credit at this conference, which is designed for administrative professionals. If you are employed as a central office administrative assistant, building level secretary, support office professional in special education, transportation, facilities, food service, purchasing, and other school support services, consider enrolling in the SAPC program. You will expand your knowledge, skills and confidence as a professional. In addition, you will receive ongoing training and support from experienced instructors. This annual conference provides outstanding professional development.

Learn more about the SAPC program and more about this year’s Support Staff Conference. If you have questions or would like more information, contact Courtney Byam at 517.327.5937 or email at cbyam@msbo.org.
