The focus is on providing information and training for school secretaries and administrative support personnel. Expand your knowledge, skills, and confidence as an administrative professional. Receive on-going training and support from experienced instructors and MIEM staff. This is a great way to earn credit toward SAPC certification. Exhibitor information will be posted on the MIEM website in June. Conference registration opens in early September. Crystal Awards MIEM established the Crystal Award as a way to recognize and celebrate outstanding work performance. Achievements and contributions of individuals who work in support staff positions within Michigan school districts are recognized. Once again, Office Depot sponsors the awards. The Crystal Awards recognize exceptional school administrative professionals in three categories: Customer Service, Student Services, and Best Practices. More information will be coming soon!

Grading And Reporting:15 Fixes For Broken Grades June 17, 8:00 am - 3:15 pm Location: Macomb ISD, Clinton Township Educators interested in examining and improving grading practices should ask the following questions: Am I confident that students in my classroom receive consistent, accurate and meaningful grades that support learning? Am I confident that the grades I assign students accurately reflect my school or district’s published performance standards and desired learning outcomes? The “fixes” in the title include four categories that reflect common grading challenges: distorted achievement, low-quality or poorly organized evidence, inappropriate grade calculation and linking grades more closely to student learning. Since 1996, Ken O’Connor has served as an independent consultant on grade assessment and evaluation and has presented worldwide.
