Certification courses are offered through MIEM and the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO). Certification courses provide a great deal of information in a short time. Most courses are intended to cover major points about their respective topics, offer an opportunity for questions and discussion, and provide resource information for future use.MIEM’s School Administrative Professional Certification Program (SAPC) is designed for central office and school building secretaries, and individuals employed in administrative support positions within Michigan schools. Grading and Reporting: 15 Fixes for Broken Grades June 17, 8:00 am - 3:15 pm Location: Macomb ISD Educators interested in examining and improving grading practices should ask the following questions: Am I confident that students in my classroom receive consistent, accurate and meaningful grades that support learning? Am I confident that the grades I assign students accurately reflect my school or district’s published performance standards and desired learning outcomes? The “fixes” in the title include four categories that reflect common grading challenges: distorted achievement, low-quality or poorly organized evidence, inappropriate grade calculation and linking grades more closely to student learning.
