| 46th Annual Michigan School Testing Conference To Offer Educators Two All-Day Workshops, 35 Clinic Presentations and Four General Session Speakers! | |
Register now for the 46th Annual Michigan School Testing Conference, “Assessment in the K-12 Learning Environment." The date is February 27 to March 1, 2006 and the location is the Kensington Court Hotel in Ann Arbor. Registration is only available on line. Detailed conference information may be downloaded here. A tentative conference agenda (describing the 35 clinics) and lodging information are also available. Classroom assessment specialists, curriculum directors, principals, teachers (regular and special education), superintendents, and special education directors will want to register! On February 27, Ernie Bauer and Mark Reckase will present on “large-scale assessment.” Get hands-on experience combined with attention to practical issues or choose to attend Karen Bailey’s presentation which will focus on classroom assessment versus large-scale assessment. General Session presentations will be “The Challenge Michigan Faces,” presented by Mike Flanagan. Jeremy Hughes, will speak on “Policy Issues in Assessment Facing Michigan.” On Wednesday, the General Session will be “Achievement in America: The Numbers and the Stories They Tell” by Brooke Haycock and Daria Hall from the Education Trust in Washington, D. C. This conference has been approved for .9 SB-CEUs and 10.5 National Certified Counselor (NCC) credits. Exhibitors, focusing on assessment, will be available both days. An audio tape for one session of your choice is included in your registration fee with the option of purchasing additional audio tapes.
