Suspensions Aren't Working? Part 2
March 12, 2007, 8:45 am – 4:00 pm
Location: LCC West, Lansing
The second day of the REAL Justice Facilitator's Training is designed to fully prepare school personnel for facilitating restorative conferences in response to disciplinary referrals. Instruction occurs through lecture and video and by participating in role plays, receiving feedback, processing in groups and asking questions. It is appropriate for people who have attended the first day of the workshop, which is designed as an orientation. If you attended January 23 or March 6, you must attend this one!

This practical workshop will help school board members, superintendents, business managers and labor negotiators share information and all get on the same page. Since it is vital that board members and administrators share a common understanding when negotiating, we strongly encourage a team to attend.

Working With The Architect

Location: This will be held at the MACUL Conference, Cobo Center, Detroit, Michigan
The nuts and bolts of what technology managers need to know about the logistics of bringing technology into a school building will be covered. Topics covered include the basics of reading a blueprint, working with an architect when planning a new building, retrofitting an existing building and understanding the roles and relationships of people working on technology projects.

This is part three of a four-part series. School finance and issues related to budget are critical in the operation of a school district. This is also an area that a superintendent will want to understand and know in order to more clearly communicate with the business official who represents his or her district. David Martell and Tom White from the Michigan School Business Officials will guide participants through the essentials of what a superintendent wants and needs to know in a practical, clear and helpful manner.

Character Development & Leadership

The Leader In You (a 4-week online course)
April 3 – May 1, 2007
