Learn practical techniques for effective job-related communications, including grammar and business writing techniques you will apply to your own communication samples. These include email, memo, and letter applications, email etiquette, how to get your point across clearly and concisely plus editing and proofreading tips. Required for SAPC.

Customer Service

This session will provide a foundation for quality customer service. Participants will learn how to understand the customers’ expectations, how to deal with many different customers from challenging parents to complaining students and how to improve communication. Required for SAPC

IDEA 2004 Applied (CANCELLED)

Location: LCC West, Lansing
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (“IDEA 2004”) was re-authorized effective July 1, 2005. Though the statute became effective before the 2005-2006 school year began, many of the details regarding compliance with the statute will be addressed by the federal regulations implementing IDEA 2004.

Menu Planning and Nutrition Integrity

This session covers the fundamentals of school menu planning by using the 2000 dietary guidelines for Americans. Nutrition integrity standards and USDA child nutrition meal pattern requirements will also be covered. Purchasing for Food Service Directors

MI School Improvement Pre-Conference Workshop (FULL)

This workshop is specially designed for ISD school improvement staff, education organizations and ABCS coaches to preview several drafts of new school improvement framework tools, and discuss professional development options in preparation for the April 27 statewide rollout of the framework.

Opening Doors To Your Future: A Life Career Transition
