Plan to attend the Educational Technology Leadership Conference
The first annual Educational Technology Leadership Conference will be held at Holt High School on Monday and Tuesday, June 22-23, 2009. This first ever event combines MACUL’s Educational Technology Coordinator’s Conference with MIEM’s Educational Technology Conference.
The event will highlight a keynote presentation by lawyer Mark Zietlow from Clark Hill PLC, titled “Virtual World Technology Linked In Real World Education.” The presentation will cover topics including sexting, tweeting, copyright and trademarks, fair use and infringement, as well as distance learning issues and website issues.
The conference will also feature a panel discussion on the merits and drawbacks of social network sites.
In addition to a large exhibits area, the conference will feature breakout sessions on these topics: BidSync, working with your board of education, online learning, online professional development, integrating technology into the curriculum, school websites, Internet safety, learning management systems, technology support services, VMware, Google, Technology and differential learning, eBooks, SharePoint, web based curriculum development, professional learning networks, 1:1 computing, Web 2.0, Budgeting for IT, METS standards refresh, IT controls review, Michigan Schools Online and network security.
