Best Wishes for a Happy Holiday Season

On behalf of our MIEM Team, I want to offer our best wishes to all of you for a full, safe, and happy holiday season!
We know that you are facing a lot over these next few days in your school and/or district as well as you prepare on the home front for all that goes into the traditional giving and celebrating at this time of year. This is a time when stresses build and when we are “supposed” to be cheerful and happy. Keeping it together seems to be a dominant theme. When you add the additional worries regarding the stability of the economy in our state and nationally, we can easily be buried in a downward spiral of thoughts and feelings. I find that taking time to reflect and consider what I can do that is positive and proactive helps me to keep moving forward. That is why one of my resolutions for 2009 is to focus on what I can do that does make a difference.

Graduation and Dropout Reporting/Updates on MSDS and EEM is cancelled

Thank you for your interest in the MIEM GAD/MSDS Training which was scheduled for January 14. It has been canceled.  Please watch for a video tutorial on the use of the GAD application including how to use the new request types to be posted on the CEPI website – www.michigan.gov/cepi this week.  To assist users of the GAD application, a user guide is available on the CEPI website – www.michigan.gov/cepi  and context sensitive help is available within the GAD application. As always, the CEPI help desk is available to answer questions specific to data or use of the GAD application or MSDS and EEM applications (cepi@michigan.gov or (517) 241-1123). Please mark your calendar for the Data Quality Symposium being held on February 12, 2009 at Lansing Community College – West Campus. Registration will be open by the end of the week. This program is required for the Pupil Accounting Auditor and Pupil Accounting Specialist Certification Tracks. It can also be used as an elective and maintenance hours for all other tracks.  If you have sent in a registration form to MIEM, you will be contacted separately by Danielle Dankenbring or Debbie Kopkau.  Sorry for any inconvenience and we look forward to seeing you at another MIEM event.

Thank you for your interest in the Identity Theft/Compliance and Awareness Process Workshops. Unfortunately, events scheduled for 2008 have just completed. However, since this is such an important topic, and members who heard about the events too late to register are expressing an interest in attending, we are taking pre-registrations for a 2009 workshop.
